Default Question on Snowblower Fitment

I am looking at a 190-451-100 2 stage snowblower. It is being offered to me by a friend for no cost. I have a 1450 with a freshly rebuilt motor that runs great. Can I fit this blower on my 1450 and can I run this blower with no issues? It looks like it will fit the tractor but not sure of the operation of this unit.

A great price. That blower will throw snow like crazy (I have a 450, which is similar).

I believe it will mount. You may need to change the pulley to get the speed matched correctly.

Its a heavy blower so add weight in the rear.

Is a 1450 enough hp? Iffy, but if I were given it for free and had strong running 1450 I would try it. (blowers take lots of HP so it will tax the engine)

The alternative is to trade to someone for a QA42A, which is a single stage 'thrower'. They dont work as well, but do work (difft opinions on this). You would likely gain some $$ in the trade, if that matters. I would try the 451 first.

$.02 Others will give much better advice.

451 is meant for a 6" PTO clutch. By the time you get the pulley's right, you will lose all your torque. It was never made to fit a QL. Better pass. That or take it and trade it for a QA42A. If it was a 450.... you may be able to make it work...... but 14hp will struggle to run it.

The best fit for a QL is a 2 stage 364 snowblower(190(5)-364-100)

I spend 2 years to find one close enough to my place with the wrong PTO kit and I found 2 others for sale since I purchase mine a month ago.

Now I found a third one on a Kohler Magnum powered Cub cadet almost ready for action, wish me good luck

PS: I need a bigger garage...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
