Which replacement seat?
I see a number of different seats that members have used on their cubs. Since I have at least 2 and more likely 3 to purchase, what seats do members prefer? (one for a 782 and one for a 149)
Links and/or pricing would be ideal. What would you recommend as a replacement seat? |

I have been getting seats from Rural King for about $80. They are a direst replacement for the seats on the quietline and 82 series. They are
Made by Michigan Seat Co. I am going to wait until they go on sale and stock up.

I believe Michigan Seat made the OEM seats for the late Cyclops, possibly in addition to other models.

gotta say, the replacement saet pad from colemans military surplus worked pretty good for me..only costs 10 bucks too, but you have to order 20 worth to get it shipped..then still need to order trim lock and it takes some grunting to get it taught and good, but allows you to use original seat pan and comes out nice..all for less than 30$

I personally like the High Back seat as seen on the 782. When a seat needs to replaced, I buy these type.

I put one of these on my 2182.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
