Using Case IH brand paint 101 questions
I hope for some help in some question for a noob like me when it comes to painting. Never painted a tractor before. This will be for my 1650 restoration.
Im going to use Case Ih paint with an air gun. I bought some white 935. The directions say to use 8 parts paint to 1 part thinner. Which seems a little off to me. But I would like to use hardner too. Then Im reading some threads about a 8:4:1 ratio, and no word about thinner but using a reducer. I hate to ask such silly questions but with so many threads suggesting different things its hard to figure out what Im gonna need to use and what ratio. Any help would be grateful. Thank you, Nate

Thinner is for lacquer, reducer is for enamel. That is 8 parts paint,4 parts reducer and 1 part hardener. And by the way I also use Case IH paint and I have had good luck with it on a few decks. Hope this helps.

lacquer paint hasnt been made for 10 years. except for what's in cheap rattle cans.
your paint store should have a mixing cup with the chart on it. I use the 2 to 1 and add 1/4 hardener.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
