Default New guy here

I'm jason 36yo from western PA. I'm a father of 2 with 1 on the way. My wonderful wife and I reside in Sandy Lake PA. I have been around cc all my life. I started out driving dads 67' 122 then he traded it for a new 1414 in 97'. Soon after moving out and settling down(2006) I aquired my own 122, a 66'. It has been in need of a restoration for some time. So last week I put in new valves, piston rod and valve guids. Rand for an hour then rod seised up and broke. Today I bought my first hydrostatic ever. Its a 147, no tag so year is mystery.

Welcome Jason. I also grew up on an old Cub, a '64 100. I got it from my dad a few years ago and still mow with it today.

Nice to meet you, and welcome along to Only Cub Cadets! Too bad about your engine rebuild,.... I started off on an Original at about 12 years of age, and at 14 I began work pumping gas full time during the summers. While all the kids were on kick bikes, I drove my Original to work each day rain or shine. So, I been around an IH Cub Cadet a while, and as a member here too!

You will appreciate the vast amount of information here!

Glad to have ya!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
