1864 and 324 54" deck
I've been reading through the manual for the deck removal and installation and seems I'm doing it right. The question I have is when you turn the wheels 90 degrees and raise them to the highest position so the deck is lowest to the ground the front center roller bracket digs into the dirt to make it more difficult. Is there something I'm missing or is that just the way it is.

Driveway makes it easier or use a jack and lift the front of the tractor a bit...

From the manual. I assume that you did put the pins back in after you turned the wheels 90 degrees. If not the wheels are probably allowing the deck to drop too far.

Yes I put all pins in the same position on each wheel and the bracket that holds the center front roller on will just dig into the dirt. If I leave the wheels in the position I mow in and turn them 90 degrees the leveling bolts on top won't clear the mule drive. So what I'm saying is no matter what way I have it there's more tugging and effort to put the deck on and take off. Its not really a big deal to me but I thought I would get your guys opinions and see if I'm missing something.

All I can say is that they normally hold the deck and the center roller off the ground when you set them in the remove position. Some pics may help. Other than that I don't know what the problem is.

I don't think those decks will just roll out from under the tractor without raising the tractor up. None of mine will but I don't change the wheel settings.
