WOW Look at all this info!
Howdee I just think this site is great! Thanks for all the info. Now that I have had time to check out all the different stuff on here I am finding this Very nesscesary to maintain my new tractor properly. My cousion has been a professonal cub mechcanic for 20 years but just seems to want to jury rig everything or just do enough to make it work. I am glad to find some help that cares if things are proper as I do. The charts and tech section are awsome! I bought my 129 to work it, but I still have the desire to replace all the cosmetic parts and gaurds that previous owners have apparently found a hinderence. I was lucky and got some manuals when I bought it, but does not seem to be always the best info. When I brought the machine home I changed the fluids and filters and gave it a good tune up, But now I see to have taken a big step backwards after removing the drawbar to install the tiller gear I got it all together according to the book but now all that fresh new expensive HY-Tran oil is slowly dripping out on my wifes grass. Again glad to have the help! Casey

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
