It has condensation in it, time for a oil and filter change.

Drain it and use HyTran Ultra. Look at what Mr. SamMac found in his tubes also.

There is probably not a drain plug and you can't clean out the case anyway. You will likely need to remove the rear plate and it will drain out that way.

I just did it yesterday on a 1450 and posted some pics, here it is:

http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=24374

you'll need rear plate gasket and new filter also. make sure you get all the old gasket material removed.

BTW I learned most of this searching old threads and asking questions here.

good luck.

The fact that the fluid is milky is a clue that the hydro fluid put in last time was likely not IH/CASE hytran ultra. Instead of going milky, hytran encapsulates the moisture and will just look like blobs or beads suspended in the fluid. Use the good stuff, it's worth it.

Yeah I noticed my 2082 has a drain by the filter but that's the only one I have with a plug for the hydro.

What model tractor? sounds like alot of fluid.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
