Default newbie

Howdy,

A newbie from Arkansas. Just picked up a nice 127 yesterday. The previous owner took care of a lot of mechanical and cosmetic issues. I mowed with it last night, kids loved riding/mowing. I was surprised at how much it really performs like a little tractor.

This one has some "modifications" the electric lift (tied to the IH 3point) is a custom job, and there are some other quirks, that I figure are to be expected with a 40yr old tractor.

At any rate, I plan on working on this machine myself and hope to both use this site as a resource and become a valuable contributor as well.

Default first mow

Well, I don't know who was more excited me or the kids... I could hardly get it off the trailer before I had a little help...

I've also got a "non-standard", as far as I can tell, lift.. see custom electric lift? thread...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
