Default Lost key.
I lost my key anyone know if I can get a new key from the ignition switch a number or code. Really don't want to replace the switch butt I may have to Thanx 1650 with krohler engine

I lost the key to my 125 because it was loose in the switch. I just ordered a new ignition switch and key from www.isavetractors.com

I think keys for early Cubs are universal. I've replaced a couple of switches over the years and all their keys fit each others switches.

They are for many models. My 123 and 125 are keyed the same. I did a little investigating at a show one time and found that my 125 key worked in a Farmall 560, an IH 660, an IH 350 Utility, a Farmall 756, and a Farmall 806 that I can remember, there may be more that I'm forgetting.

So, the same key works for Cub Cadets, 50 series, 60 series, 06 series and 56 series. Probably others too, but that's all that I tried.

When you think about it, that would be typical of IH. Years ago I had a '65 Scout that used those old Briggs and Stratton keys. We also had 3 IH fire trucks in the local fire company and my Scout key would start 2 of them. IH didn't waste a lot of money on unique key patterns.

Quietlines had a different key than the earlier cubs. Just a regular Indak key, which can be bought just about anywhere that sells tractor parts. A small flat screwdriver will start your cub also.

The last new switch I bought was made in India and the key will fall out while the engine is running.

Keys are optional. rip that crap out put a good toggle & push button start, unless you have show piece. a working tractor is just that. sorry i grew on a farm. our truck to pickup bales didn,t have doors.
