Default New from middle Tennessee

Just picked up a 782 in pretty good condition and the guy I bought it from mentioned this site. Holy cow! I spent most of the evening just looking through the various forums. Lots of great info!

I expect I'll have questions, so I'll see you on the 782 forum!

Welcome Explorer. You may find more than you ever thought you'd need to know on this Forum. Whereabouts are you in mid-TN? I grew up in Nashville. Cheers!

Thanks, guys! I live in Manchester. Yep - I snagged the one off Craigslist. Although I don't yet know a lot about Cub Cadets, it looks to be a really nice machine.

Although I got it primarily for mowing, I am already lusting for a bulldozer blade!

Hello Mike from Manchester! I'm Kevin from Manchester! Small world, huh! A few years ago, the rear axle broke in my Cub Cadet 1330. I searched everywhere & could not buy only the axle, I was told I had to shell out about $450 for a complete transmission! Later, in Shelbyville I found a second 1330 with the same problem, but it was the opposite axle! I bought the second 1330 (Which was still in excellent condition) for $400.00 & used the good axle to repair my original one. Later, I found RF Houtz & Son through eBay. They sell new AND Used Cub parts & sold me both axles to fix my second 1330! I have been buying from these guys ever since! They have saved my two 1330's several times! When I joined this forum, I noticed that they are one of the sponsors here. When working on your Cub, keep these guys in mind. They are very helpful, friendly, and ship quickly!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
