Default Connecting rod and cap
Hey guys,
What way does the kohler rod go on the piston? Thanks. This is a replacement good used crankshaft so I need a matching set with the correct rod and cap which I have, should I also use the original pin that holds the rod onto the piston?

IIRC, there is a marking on the cap and I think it goes towards the Flywheel end. It is covered in the K Series Service Manual.

Some Kohler pistons have a flywheel side and the rod would need to be installed so the hole in the end cap faces the camshaft and the mark on piston is on flywheel side. Otherwise I don't beleive it matters. As long as the wrist pin is in nice shape and mics up within tolerance I would use it.

Ok thanks, I used the new wrist pin as it is meant for the new piston.

That's funny. My books tells rod and piston orientation on page 12.11 and 12.12.........

I believe that's the page I was on, but I still wasn't sure, what should the connecting rod bolts be torqued to?
