Default Lift frames vs. mower decks

If a lift frame & hanger assembly are attached to a Cub Cadet 129 & working properly, can one determine which mower deck is compatible? Is there a list of frame model #s (or part #s) that show compatible mower deck model #s (or part #s)?

Yosemite Sam asked a similar question in 09/09, & Matt G. & R Bedell responded, but not in answer to my question.

The 129 (or 1x8/9 Series) was designed for the 38, 44, & 50 mower decks. There was also a kit to retrofit kit for the older decks (38, 42, & 48) for this series.

There is an adapting package for the 44c and 50c to fit your 129.Part # for the package is 223 298 C91.You would also have to change the center pulley on the mower deck and the belt. You would still need the frame assembly from the 82 series

The one for the 38c is 62 383 c91 Front drive package for your 129.You would still need the frame assembly from the 82 series. You would also have to change the center pulley on the mower deck and the belt also.

A note to the guys at the tech library.

It would be a great addition to the manuals section if the CPE-2 was to be included in that section,it would help answer a lot of questions like this.

Thanks for the info, but I can't locate the packages by Googling the part #s or by searching the usual Cub parts sites. Also, which center pulleys & belts (part #s) are required for the three decks?

Those packages are probably NLA. Maybe one of the sponsors on top of the page to see if they may have them.
The pulley for the 44c and 50 c are 59 703 C1 The belt is 59 971 C1.
The pulley for the 38C is the same for the 44c and 50c
The belt is 490 489 R2.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
