Default 2182 deck

I'm looking for a newer deck for my 2182. Current deck is a 54" deck but it is beat. I found a gt48 deck on ebay that's in really nice condition but I'm worried about fitment/operation. According to tractor data there was never a 48" deck offered for the 2182. Attached is the pic of the gt48 on ebay. Can you let me know if it will work on my 2182?

Thanks

The parts lookup shows a 46,48,54 & 60" decks were available.

Click on Cub Cadet and put in your model & serial # and it will list all options.

FWIW, the spec sheet that I have shows a 48" deck available for tractor years 1993 through 1995.

From my experience, Tractor Data is a good authority for basic information, but that is it. The best is Cub Cadet sources, even though there are foo-pah's that they have.

The 54 and 48 inch decks are interchangeable. It will work for sure.

Depending on the serial number, one will have a 4" pto pulley, the other will have a 6", so the deck pulley may have to be changed. What is the serial number on the 2182? what is the model # on the deck? BTW the 48" deck is not listed for serial # 800,000 thru 816,535

The serial number on the 2182 is 871240. I don't know about the deck. I'll try to find out.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
