Talking Another PA guy here.......

.......not quite in the hills(but I do like to hang out there), and you can never have too many guns!

I've been lurking here for a little over a year after purchasing my first Cub, just soaking up all the knowledge like a sponge. I'm old school and see very little quality in the products made today, so when I decided to get a tractor for gardening and lawn chores, it had to be a vintage Cub.

I went out and found a 147 in very good running condition. I also got a 48" deck, qa 36 snowthrower, and 42" blade in the deal. I brought it home, got on the 'puter, and found this forum.

I plan to completely restore this machine and attachments to like new condition, and have already purchased most of the parts needed through many of the vendors represented at this forum. I wanted as many NOS parts as possible. NOS parts are not only $$$ but some are down right hard to find. I know I didn't have to get NOS parts for a machine that I plan on using, but I'm a little O.C.D......LOL.

Welcome to
OCC!

That is certainly a nice looking tractor. You have some good toys to use as well.

Nothing wrong with looking for NOS parts. I enjoy the hunt, for me it's part of the fun.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
