NF to WF bracket problems
I picked up a 42 inch snow blade complete with a NF mount. I want to remove the NF mount and replace it with a Wide frame mount for my 1811. When I got it, I thought I could pull both pins and it would slide side to side enough so I could remove the NF mount, and put the wide frame mount back on the same way. But it will not move enough either way. I thought that long rod that the clips go in would move, but it is welded so it will not slide out. There must be a way to change these, any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

The Sub Frames for the Dozer Blades are different. If you want a WF Sub Frame, then you will have to acquire one. You can do an internet search, put an Ad in the Wanted Section in the Classifieds, or contact Sponsors Houtz or Patton located at the top of the page.
If you have a Cutting Torch, Welder, and some Flat Stock Steel, you can always fabricate something to make it fit.

You have to spread the mount apart enough to slip it over the pin on one side.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
