I have a 7hp 80 gal compressor. You'll love it, especially if you've been doing your stuff with a portable compressor. While it will run both an orbital sander and a blasting cabinet at the same time, you won't be happy with the performance of either. Remember, those specs printed on the tank and the printed material are very optimistic. It will run either one of those things individually quite well, though.
I recommend mounting a water filter near the tank (mine is actually mounted together with the regulator valve right on the tank outlet) and another water filter as near as possible to the outlet where you will hook up your tool. The filter at the tank will keep a little water out of the lines when the compressor starts up, but once the compressor starts to heat up the warm air holds the moisture until it cools in the lines, then the water condenses out and gets into the lines (and into your tools). The second water trap catches that and protects your tools and paint job. Once I get my shop completely plumbed for air, I'll probably eliminate the trap and pressure control valve at the tank and just put a ball-cock valve. I'll put a water trap and pressure control at each station and add an auto-lubrication filter where I use pneumatic tools as well. All that stuff is available at Harbor Freight at good prices. Who knows about quality, though. I figure if it works to my satisfaction, it's ok.

I got a sharpe water separator. and 2 other off brands. it is recommended they are put as far away from the tank as possible. it give the air time to cool so the water comes out and into the bowl. I have a pressure regulator at the tank to slow the air down. 90psi. then a water separator every 25' so the new sharpe filter is over 50' away from the tank.
I dont want the sharpe to be working hard to get the water out. so the other 2 do most of the work and the sharpe gets the rest of it. and the sharpe has a regulator on it to set the pressure for a paint gun . also my paint gun has a pressure regulator (to fine tune it) and a small water separator (just in case) I paint cars , so I dont want any water at all in the air. I ran the compressor till it was hot and checked the moisture level comming from the tank. its about 65% and at the gun it was 3% . I also will soon have an electric purge valve on the bottom of the tank. it pops open every 20min or so to let water out of the tank. it has a 1/4" line that runs out the wall. my other compressor is a upright 60gal 5hp that got very hot and made lots of water. it would keep up with all my tools but would never shut off untill I was done using the tool. the moisture level on it at the tool was 18% when hot. it'll be in the forsale section soon , if there is a place to post it. (havent looked yet) |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
