Default Reverse issues

I just got my first Cub Cadet 1330, and having problems with it backing up. It goes very slow backwards on level ground, but not up hill. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

I will. Thanks. Well I took alook at it. Took the battery out and fan is all busted up. Any suggestions on a video where I can check the level of fluid and buy a new hydro fan?

The Transmission is made by Hydro Gear. I am trying to find out what Model or Series of Hydro Gear Unit that Cub Cadet bought for this series of Lawn Tractors.

Someone correct me if I am wrong. Should be 7" 10 blade CCW fan. Cub part number 931-3080.

They also sell after market on amazon but Cub Cadet one is cheap enough.

Here is a link to your Operator Manual....
http://manuals.mtdproducts.com/mtd/S...e=772-4129.pdf

Your model number will be on a tag on the left hand side of the pedestal. It should be something like 133-233100

And here is a link to your parts breakdown....
https://www.ccparts.com/cub-cadet-pa...00/ID-4285-225

I believe the transmission is a HydroGear. The transmission may have a reservoir on top for the transmission oil but the pump has it's own self contained fluid system separate from the transmission, you can't check that.

Check your belts and linkages for wear and proper adjustment (read the operator manual). If the tractor goes good forward you probably need adjustment. If transmission or pump is toasted it could be fixed but would cost more than the tractor is worth.

The tractor will go forward and sometimes will go in reverse.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
