Default Adjustable cam gear

I was reading a two year old post and it was suggested to use an adjustable cam gear on the crank. Who offers this gear?

Any of the pulling vendors will have them. Zach Kerber machine, Vogel manufacturing and Lakota racing will all have the adjustable cam gear.

Everything I have found has been the driven gear on the cam, I'm looking for an adjustable drive gear for the crank. All I did was a quick search but I'm coming up empty handed. I want to machine the crank and put the adjustable gear there.

You would have to cut the gear off then weld a new one on exactly where you want it. They don't make adjustable crank gears.

I've used this method before to advance cam timing. you cut the gear off the crank you want to use. then you take another crank and machine the crank away so you can use that gear. you cut a keyway in the crank and 4 keyways in the gear. all in a different position to a tooth. you can no longer use the timing marks on the cam or crank. you use TDC and split overlap. the gear needs to be a slip fit. when you find where you want it to be then tac weld it on. its pretty involved for someone who hasn't done allot of engine work. you could just call Kerber and get a #3 cam and a set of wide base lifters with 7 degrees of advance built in

Thanks for the reply, that's kind of where I was at on it , cut one off and weld one on. I'm going to run the gov3 cam, if I'm already cheating I might as well cheat. Just trying to get an edge with the "stock" pieces. Chances are if I get tore down most guys don't know how to use a degree wheel anyway as long as the lift is correct and I play dumb.
