Default Exhaust valve guide replacement

Could some one help out whos done this .
I have a 341 that needs a guide. I tapped it out 3/4 of the way with a 3/8-16 tap to pull it. The manual states full thread in tap. Without buying a longer tap, would 3/4 be enough ???

Engine is in tractor still and together (except for head and valve obviously)
I thought I read somewhere about tapping the guide down with the remover/installer tool ( I have that). Tappet is in the way keeping me from driving it down. I thought I saw that you could break the lower portion of the guide with a hammer and chisel and drive down the other half ???

Is pulling the guide out the best way ?

I have a good 5/16 reamer to finish the job once I install the new guide and have a new valve which I will lap for an air tight fit in the block.

Thanks for your input

Carroll

Default Guide

You must pull the cam and tappets then knock it through.
There’s not enough clearance. Or use a valve guide puller to take i from the top.
Kohler made them.

Be very careful not to break or crack the block in the process.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
