Cub 7264 hydro help!

Hi guys, I recently purchased a 7264 that had been disassembled by a dealer for a "transmission" problem. I bought it from the deceased owners daughter so details are sketchy. She said it was a hydro issue, husband said differential. Anyway, got it home and started to check out what I have. Engine starts and runs 100%. After pulling a pile of gears and a shaft out of the bottom of the transmission case, everything in there seems fine. Turns out those gears are supported by the hydro out put shaft. Now the bad. Hydro was disassembled and left out in the weather for a year. Everything is a ball of rust. Cases are ok and that's about it. Is there a tranny that will work? Can I gut another tranny for parts into this case? Is there someone who can rebuild it for less than the $1800 cub wants for a new one? Thanks!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
