Default Hi from NJ

Hi Gang

I have been lurking here since about June. Lots of great helpful and knowledgeable members here, very impressive actually. Long boring story short, I got my first CC as a project to teach my sons how to work on engines and restore machinery (they wanted an old car as the first project to learn on) it is a CC71 that I got from Darkminion 17, AKA Lew from Montague NJ. Glad to be accepted as a member here and looking forward to trying to be a productive part of this great community some day.

Rich

Welcome, I too only have one old cub cadet, but I now find myself wanting more, and I am sure you will find yourself doing the same.

Thanks for the warm welcome all.

Oops...I forgot to mention I am infected. I brought home a 782 last week(wrong color but not what you may be thinking, this one is green and yellow, not for long) with a very nice deck and a blade. Runs strong as far as I can tell engine sounds great and the trans whines but not bad, first Hydro tractor ever so what do I know. PO advertised a 682 and I had to go look because I have been hunting for a tractor with a blade for a while now, nice surprise when I got there and saw it, the hydro lift made me color blind temporarily. The 71 will be started on it's journey to new this spring but untill we can work on that one we will play with the 782 moving all this snow and make sure its up to snuff for it's intended duties.

Rich

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
