Default 782D overkill for a 1.5 acre yard?
In my quest for a couple cadets I came across a 782D for $2K. I could buy a lot of cubs for that...but, it is a diesel!

Overkill for my yard?

Not even close to overkill. I mow two acres with a Super GT Diesel. It's just right.

I know a guy who mows .5 acre subdivision lot with a jd 2305 cut and 63" deck.... mower envy type, if you know what I mean.

Nope, it's not overkill.
I have a 2 acre yard to mow, so
I mow one acre with my 782, then I mow the other one with my 882.
