Dump trailer project
I'm not sure where to post this, I'm sure the moderators can help me out. Anyway I'm in the beginning phase of converting my manual dump trailer into a electric dump, maybe with remote control? I've hade this trailer for at least 35 years it has been painted once to match my earlier mtd huskey. I've reinforced the tongue and the axle assembly and floor years ago to handle the extra weight I've put in it so its a good hd trailer. The plan is to sand and paint it cub yellow with a rino coat for the bed , (after all what else would I want to pull behind the cubs lol) also to add a electric actuator for the lift I'll keep ya posted on the progress.

Dump Trailer project
Go to your local Home Depot store and look around where heavy containers are stacked one upon the other with plastic sheets in between. Maybe over in the masonry or paint section where things are usually heavy and not easily stacked.
One time when I was shopping there I was buying something that was stacked with black plastic sheets in between to prevent the containers from falling over. I asked the guy what they did with the plastic sheets after they set them aside and he told me that they just throw them out! He said I could have one if I wanted it!! The plastic divider piece was a little less than 2' x 6' and about 1/8" thick, somewhat flexible, smooth and slick. At the time, I was looking for something to put inside my deck boot for the leaf vacuum to allow the leaves to be sucked up without building up inside the boot. A small rectangular piece of that slick sheet material proved to be just what I needed to round out the inside of the boot to allow the leaves to flow up the hose. This stuff has been very handy to have around tor various projects. I would guess that a couple of sheets of this plastic material attached to the bottom of your trailer would be just what you need to make the bottom slick and easy to dump. This would solve your problem "on the cheap"! You can't beat free!!

UHMW polyethylene is used for high speed abrasive conditions - like slides on snowmobiles and high speed packaging machines. HDPE is used for less demanding applications and like UHMWPE is considered an engineering plastic. The plastic disc kids use to slide down snow covered hill is an example but some of them are LDPE but not as durable. Think LDPE = gallon milk jugs. Farm Tec has some sheet and film and Amazon sells Farm Tec items. Some natural PE products are available with UV stabilizers added but black sheet and film will have better UV protection than natural (like Vis-Queen) almost see thru film.
