GT 2550 steering bushings
I have a 2009 GT 2550 with 70 hours. While changing oil I noticed some play in the steering. After inspecting I found that the bushings one the end of the drag link that bolts to the steering gear assy where worn. 941-0475 Just plastic bushings. Are there any brass replacements or do I just replace every 70 hours.

Possibly Jeff in Pa. could make them for you, if Granger has nothing that would work. |

Measure the ID and OD and order some bronze bushings from McMaster (click on Flanged Sleeve Bearings)

I will do. That place has everything. I got some tie rod ends that were HIGH quality and way less than cub cadet. Thanks for the reply.

Several years ago now I was searching for a replacement bushing for my steering and ordered these. I don’t really remember now why I didn’t go with bronze but these have held up for me better than the OEM ones.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
