147 Restoration / Modification
So after a few problems with the 147 I have just decided to start the restoration. I'm planning on a different paint scheme, something like the IH 456 gold demonstrator. And since we are going this far going to add PS, ported hydro, duel hydraulic lift, and a few other goodies!! suggestions are welcome!! here is a pick, sort of what I plan on, NOT the puller thing but a little cleaner. Gives me a chance to try out my new paint set-up. I can make Rattle can look Perfect, but I thought it was time to learn something new.

I planted a little garden corn, last week. In fact I have nearly everything planted. Some of it is maybe a bit too early. But last year, I was late, so maybe it will average out.

For now we are going to wait on the PS, but still run hydraulics. Engine and some parts are ready for soda basting. Got my engine gasket and seal kit in today once the engine is blasted and painted I will replace them all.

Anyone ever remove the tunel cover on a narrow frame and make it a bolt on so you can get to the drive shaft Ect?? Was thinking of drilling out the spot welds and welding some nuts on the bottom. kind of make it like the wide frames.

Did some work on the engine today. Soda blasted it cleaned her up and painted. I like the color it's pioneer Inc engine enamel kind of a silver gray. Replaced seals, and gaskets. REMOVED THE GRENADE GEARS! Few more things to do and the engine will be finished.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
