1872/2072 Owners
My son, has a 2072. He ran into some electrical issues last night. He called & I attempted to help.
The issue is the Fuses. In the 2072 Wiring Diagram, is shows two fuses. One fuse for the system, and one for the Lights. In looking at the 2072 Owners Manual, it only depicts one fuse (for the system). See Attachment, item #A. So, my question is, (a) where is the fuse for the lights located, or (b) is it just left of the Ignition Switch and CCC did not depict it correctly on their diagram (as indicated in blue).

UPDATE.....
The 2072 has two different Wiring Diagrams. It is based on Serial Number Range. Oddly enough, the diagrams come from two different sources and neither source refers to the other. Diagram #1 - Serial Range 756,300 to 756,999 has two (10A) fuses on the Tractor Diagram #2 - Serial Range 757,000 to 799,999 has one (20A Slow Blow) fuse on the tractor. Diagram #1 comes from the Cub Cadet Wire Schematics document and no mention of Diagram #2. Diagram #2 comes from the Cub Cadet Service Manual (#772-3899) with no mention of Diagram #1 Yet, another Cub Cadet abnormality. Pull the trigger.

My 1914 has the second (blue) fuse. I believe it goes to the rear PTO.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
