Cub Cadet 100
I took a little road trip this morning to look at a cub 100 that was and has been sitting in a barn for many years. The owner states he had it running about 5 years ago and was going to restore it but never got around to it. He has the pan seat and it looked in good shape, he also has all the original paper work from the day it was bought new. I would be the 3rd owner if I decide to buy it. I made an offer and he agreed, Just wanted to get some expert advice before I decide.

Well, if the headlights are IH, you can sell those for 250.00. It has fenders but no other options, I'd say 300.00 to 375.00?

I paid $27.00 for a similar condition 100, but it didn't have fenders.
If you're happy and the seller is happy, then all is right in the world.

Nice find Larry. The fenders are worth $200. I think those are the wrong lights for a 100 but if they are correct for an O you hit the jackpot. 100's are nice tractors and I'm glad you got it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
