Default Head Bolts

Does anyone know where to purchase new head bolts for the Kohler K301a.
I have read that after replacing head gasket , recommended to replace head bolts also . Due to that they lose their strength over time and heat . They stretch .

You can get OEM head bolts from a Kohler dealer, or grade 8 bolts from a hardware store.

Matt thanks for the quick reply . I did some more internet fishing . I saw on Brian Millers website , that he uses 2 " long bolts .

But looking at the Kohler parts tree . if I interpret correctly they state 3/8 - 16 x 2 1/4 " c-z hex head Mach bolts qty 9 . I thought the last time I pulled my head the one or two bolts were a different length . I have yet to pull my head again . so have not measured .
Here is a link to the parts tree . Line 66

Don't use partstree...just get them in the lengths you removed, since each series of tractors used different length bolts because of the location of the gas tank, muffler shield, etc.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
