Default Headlight Question

Will IH CC 126 headlight assembly fit on a 128? For that matter, are 1xx lights interchangeable?

I'm looking around and see complete headlight assemblies for a 126 and other 1xx models, but they didn't specify 128. I don't know if it would fit on a 128 or what lights would?

Thanks for any helpful responses.

No.
They are two different series. The series is NOT 1XX, it is 1X6/7 and 1X8/9.
So headlights from a 73, 106, 107, 126, 127, 147 are all the same. (73 is part of that series.)
In the next series 86, 108, 109, 128, 129, 149, 169 are all the same. (The 86 is also part of that series.)
The 1X6/7 series is a narrow frame series, the 1X8/9 series is a totally new tractor series and went to a wide frame.

You might be able to make your own panel. You just need good measurements or one to use as a pattern. You would still need the lights though.

I made the one for my 147(which is different than yours). Someone gave me a 149 panel, and I used the lights from that and made the correct panel. Yours should be easier because it's flat, no bending or welding.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
