I have a cub 1200 with a 12hp kohler that will not start I pulled and cleaned the carb, checked compression and spark. I have power at least to the plug and fuel getting into the cylinder. I do not k kw how to adjust the carb to get it started, is it a fuel or plug issue? All help appreciated

Tell us how the problem got started.... Was this running recently? Is fuel fresh? Timing on the mark?

Well sounds like you are tracking it down. You may have already
done this but if not. You can find the engine you are working on in the technical library of the site here. That will at least give you the basic settings for the carb. When you say it "Will not start" what are you saying? Does it turn over and not fire? Does it not turn over? The more info you can provide the easier it is for folks to help you. Ken |

1 1/2-2 turns out from seated position on the low speed ( idle) screw and 2 1/2 turns out from seated on the high speed should let it start as far as the carb is concerned ! will it fire if carb cleaner is sprayed directly into the carb while cranking ?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
