Default Cub Cadet Mod. 1529 Deck belt ??

I have an old Model 1529 which is a 46" cut, 3 blade system. I have replaced belts, spindles during the past couple of years. Two days ago, the deck belt flew apart into pieces & I went to the shop that I always get parts for. The old belt pieces did not have a number on it, so the guy looked it up on his computer. He had a hard time finding the belt this time, but finally gave me a belt that measures 5/8" x 101". Like I said, I have changed this belt a couple of times, but I cannot make this belt fit, because it is way too long . I went back to the shop & he insist that it is the right belt. Unless I am losing my mind, I cannot make it fit.
Does anyone have the correct measurement of this belt. It IS the deck belt, not the one that goes around the PTO.
Thanks in advance !

Using the Cub Cadet Parts & Service Lookup tab at the top of the page, the deck belt that engages the spindles is: 954-04011 V-BELT B SEC x 101.2

A 5/8 " x 101" , a tad shorter is what he gave me. I am going to post a picture. Unless my memory has gone bad, you can completely install this on the removed deck.

I would suggest you click on the tab at the top of the page and type in "1529" and pick out the belt you are looking for.

Ref:
40
954-04011
V-BELT B SEC x 101.2

This part replaces 754-04011.

Isn't this the belt that wraps around the 3 pulleys/spindles for the blades ? It wraps on the bottom of the double pulleys. The other belt seems to wrap around the PTO & the top pulley of the two outside spindles.

In the pix of the deck, it is wrapped around the idler & the center pulley.

There are only two belts on this deck. (A) Deck/Spindle Belt, and (B) the PTO Belt.

The one I looked up was the Deck/Spindle belt.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
