Default Found a 2182 SGT? Have some?

I found a 2182 Super Garden Tractor I believe. I have never owned a SGT and have some questions. I have been watching it where it sat on a property for the whole summer and I left a note asking if it was for sale and got a call about it last night. It has a Kubota 3 cyl gas engine and a cat 0 3point hitch and rear Pto and a 60" Haban mower deck. There is also a tiller available with it that runs off the rear Pto. Is the 2182 a good tractor? I'm going to look at it today to acess it's condition and mabe make an offer on it. At this time it has no battery in it so I may bring one with to attemp to start it. I was told it runs and drives and works as it should when he parked it. Any special things to look for on this machine? What would be a fair value of this machine? I will have some pics in a few hours when I go look at it. I mostly am interested in the tractor and the mower deck, anyone have any idea of aproximatly what it is worth? I want it but not bad enough to overpay for it. Also what is a rear tiller that is driven off the rear Pto of the 2182 worth?? Thank you for any help and opinions.

Depending on condition setup as you mentioned it could easily be worth $3000-$4000.00 if everything works and the plastic is decent. Do you have any pics?

I will have pics in about 3 hours. I have not seen the tiller and I'm not sure if it is on site. The tractor and mower looks to be in good condition but it is verry dirty because it sat outside all summer under a big tree. Hopefully the outdoors has not caused too much damage. I could never understand why someone would leave something like this sitting outside all year?? Will this machine have an hour meter on it? Thanks for your input so far.

Did you get it? Awesome machine and the best gas engine ever put in a Cub too.

I'm thinking the tiller should be worth $750, rear lift $450 and the pto another $600 to $700.

Why can't I ever find 'em around me just sitting outside waiting for a new home? Patiently waiting to hear if you snagged it or not with pics.

Sorry for the delays everyone. I have been waiting to hear back from the owner. I wanted to wait to post again until we worked out a deal. It looks like I'm going to get it. Hopefully I will pick it up today and bring it home to my heated shop for a thorough inspection to see if the engine an hydro are in good shape and then it will be mine if all is good. It has been sitting outside not being used with no battery the whole summer. There is at least one piece of broken plastic that you can see in the pic of the engine, choke cable is stuck, and so are the rear brakes but all else looks ok. It has a 3-point and rear Pto but no front hydraulics, really? It looks to be a 1990, can anyone confirm that and Suply a date of manufacture? Here some long awaited pics. Enjoy!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
