Cat 0 lift mod 1864
Decided to try a lift capacity modification on my OTHER 1864. Wanted to do it as economic as I could while being able to have the 3pt separate from the deck lift. From start to finish it took me about 6 hours. Half of that time was spent swearing and thinking.
I still have some loose ends to tie up and need to weld the float straps on when Jeff gets around to milling them. Going to try it out on my R-Bucket tomorrow.

Well I tested it out today, good results. I think a 3pt is not useful if it does not lift the front end off the ground. This one will do that now! The first test was lifting the front of a 782 with 120 lbs of suitcase weights in the bucket. This lifted the front end off the ground. The second test was loading the bucket full of rock without struggle. SO, Im satisfied for a secondary tractor 3point. The lift travel is 12", which is what it was by using the extended holes previously, only the 3pt would not even lift 150 lbs in the bucket. My hydraulic pressure has remained the same ( 800 psi ) as always so this was a very fair test.

So i figured with GREAT SUCCESS last week that it was ready for work. I went to go get some rock and discovered that it will pick the front end clear up off the ground at full lift. Awesome.
Wasnt till i was driving down one of the busier streets in Humboldt that the i noticed the bucket whopper jawed and the tractor pulling to the right. Bent 3pt arm, flat tire (had problems all mowing season, rappidly amplified by extra weight) backed into ditch to unload and rim spun inside tire and the low fuel light came on... Phone almost dead, Called Nightow1 to help. Aired the tire up and came home. Mission aborted. Going to build more robust 3pt arms similar to ones XMW has, put my new 23° Firestones on and put more fuel in the 18, then give it another go. Wish me luck!
