Hey! Just picked up this 1811 today! I am very excited to start learning more about the Cubs and seeing what it can do. I am new to Cub Cadet so if anyone has some info like what year it is based off of my serial number that would be awesome!

According to the 50 Years of Cub Cadet 739199 is a 1985. But it also states the 1811 was made from 1986-1989. Confusing.

789199 makes more sense.

My wife has been telling me over the last several months to schedule an eye exam because I keep complaining that I can’t see very well at night anymore while I drive. I will take this as a hint and go ahead to get my appointment scheduled. lol when I go back to my farm tomorrow I will take a better picture of the serial number plate.

Welcome to OCC.
The 1811/1812 is the best GT that Cub Cadet built in my opinion. That looks to be in great condition. Where in Tennessee are you located?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
