steering rebuild question
I saw on here somewhere that the JD 112 or 212 had the same steering rebuild kit as a 1200 cub is that true? And that it was quite abit cheaper to buy than the one for the cub is that right?

Not exactly sure if that is true anymore, Matt knows a part number for a "kit" from your Cub dealer that may be pretty close to the same price as the one from the "other guys".
Maybe he'll be along soon and share it with us again.

The cam follower would probably be cheaper from JD, but I doubt the bearing kits are. The bearing and cup kit is IH-71930-C91 and is only like $11 through CC...you'd be hard-pressed to find a better price than that.

That's funny, Mark, your posts didn't show up when I initially posted that for some reason.
Anyway, bocephus1991, I forgot to mention that sponsor Mark Hellrung (Yosemite Sam) will have the best price on a new cam follower stud if you need one. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
