In case I posted in the wrong spot....
...I'll stick them over here, too. If you have already seen them, I apologize!
A guy owed me some money and mentioned that he was putting his lawnmower on Craigs list for $400, would I take that? I came over in my Chevy Shortbox pickup thinking I was getting some little push thing. Instead was a Cub Cadet 1641, running but needing a tune up. It came with a mower deck & bagger, which is all he used. It also came with both types of back tires and cast iron wheel weights, 3-point hydraulic lift with a sleeve adaptor, a box blade, ripper, 50 gallon roller, seeder, and a 15 cu/ft JD trailer. I added the front bumper, guard, and 3000 lbs winch, dumpbox, 18 inch front tires, Harly Davidson exhaust, and lights (2x 50 headlights, 2x taillights with flashers, 2x side lights with flashers, rotating beacon in addition to the stock system)(I added a voltmeter to keep an eye on that stuff) ; there is a winch driven 48 inch front blade I modified from a $ears blade for the front, a larger (truck) battery and now have most of the parts for an air horn off a yarder, if you have ever heard one of those. I have a rifle scabbard on the side during deer season. The dump box makes this my "motorized wheelborrow" and hauls all kinds of things around the yard. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
