Default Road Trip Time

The wife and I will be starting on a road trip to Minnesota early tomorrow morning to pick up a Cozy Cab for a 782. Round trip will be around 1200 miles unless we get sidetracked on the way home. I have been looking for a cab for my snowblower tractor and finally ran across this one. My plans are to mount the cab and my 451 blower to a IH 782 I have with a blown engine and transfer the 23 hp command from the 1872 I am using on blower duty. I also have a 1864 Power Steering unit and super steer axle to install on it. This will only get used for snow blowing duty. I will post some pictures when I get it home and start a thread when I get started on it. I will then install a 18 hp command from the 1864 in the 1872 and put my Kwik-Way loader in it.

With a 451 and 23hp engine...you should be able to blow that snow almost back to Minnesota. Looking forward to the pics...Have a safe trip too!

Thanks Roland. I will get some pictures posted when I get home. I checked the weather yesterday and it looks like it should be sunny to partly cloudy for most of the trip. I just put new tires, brakes, wheel bearings and CV shafts on the truck so I should be good to go.

That's going to be a heckuva nice snow removal setup when it's all said and done.

Few things in the cub world I think look more cool than a red cub cadet blowing snow with a white blower on the front of it.

Must be a heck of a deal to drive 1200 miles for it. But I hear Minnesota is lovely this time of year.

Enjoy the road trip.

I admire your commitment setting up a deal to drive 1200 miles to pick up something for your Cub Cadet tractor. I've driven 500 miles for something and that was a long ride! Good luck and safe travels!

Thanks all, We are sitting in a hotel room in Spring Valley Minnesota. Got the cab loaded up and got some thing to eat and stopped for the night. We are pooped out to say the least. Going to take two days to drive back home. This isn't the first time we have taken a long road trip to pick up something. We do something like this every two years. Gives us a chance to see some different parts of the country but this has been the longest one way trip yet. I will post some pictures when I get home.

As promised some pictures of my Cozy Cab. I am really impressed with the construction of this cab. it is very well built. My next move is to see if it can be adapted to my 1872 that is dedicated to snowblower duty. I will start a new thread in the implements and attachments section for that project.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
