Default Picture of the Week: April 3, 2015

This weeks submission is sent to us by local member Jerry Collier III aka Dirt Cowboy from Advance, IN. Jerry comments "This is my Cub Cadet 982 my buddy and I customized into a mini 5488. The tractor has decals, paint scheme, hood, and grille done up like an IH 5488. This tractor took nearly 5 months to complete. I redid my Brinly Cat0 disk and replaced worn parts. The disk has 16 new 12" disk blades. The crumbler was built by my friend for me. It works fantastic to prepare final seedbed prior to planting. It raises and lowers with ease by turning hand crank. I used this outfit at a plowday and it worked great. I plan on using this outfit in my 3 acre field. The crumbler is 6' wide. I disked freshly plowed and unplowed ground with no problems." Thanks for the submission Jerry!!!

Man, I've said it before...that is a sweet setup. Check out the dude on the Quietline driving by just about breaking his neck off staring.

Your rig must have been the star of the show.

Lol yes I noticed that after I took the pic. When I drove it down the road to the plowday field there were a lot of cameras out when I pulled into plowday field with it. Thank you for the compliment.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
