One side of XT2 not cutting well
I have a Cub Cadet XT2 (42") that leaves the grass 'partially uncut' on the right side. I have the deck set to 3. The blades are sharp and I don't drive very fast. I see the problem even when I go very slow. The grass is maybe 3.5"~4" long and not wet. The underside of the deck is clean. I thought it was likely a dull blade but I've sharpened each blade and they are sharp. I have the mulching blades installed. It sort of looks like unsharp blades, but I know they are sharp and I've re-sharpened them multiple times. Any idea what is going on? I am sort of at a loss as to what is happening.

Do you hear any kind of noise when getting into the tall grass? Something on that side is causing the blade to slow down when it encounters resistance and doesn’t cut very well.
I had a similar issue on mine when the deck belt was wore out, it would cut the easy stuff fine but the tall/thick stuff it would start squealing and didn’t cut worth a flip. I could tell the blades were slowing way down from the noise |

Check your belt and tension springs. My LT1045 spring came off and my center blade wasn’t cutting the taller stuff, both outer blades were doing fine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
