Roller Chains V61 tires, (traction)
After this last snow i decided I needed to do something about front traction steering sucked on snow and ice. I bought (4) #40 Roller Chain @48.5".
2 each on my V61's, surprisingly it worked GREAT! plowed out the neighbors driveway this afternoon, and had n o problem steering even when the blade was packed... Simple to put on took me ten minutes total. Between my R-Bucket & Hydraulic top link, and the hydraulic angle front blade, She is a SNOW BEAST..... |

Looks like that chain was made for those tires! Do you still need weight up front or has this pretty much solved the issue?

Great idea Keith. That chain fits perfect in those grooves. Definite ice busters.

It is a Mr. T" tractor now!
Makes me think of bling on the teeth of some that are not Caucasian, LOL. Just think if you got the chain that has the two hole platform wings, you could then put stainless pop rivets in from the tire side. Or carbide snowmobile studs in them!! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
