Clutch driving disc spring
On a 126 clutch disc:
Do the spings go on outside of clutch pressure plate or inside?

I don't used them. They usually won't let the clutch/driveshaft not come to a complete stop. I will change the coiled pins and the bushing in the 3 pin driver.

Yea, i have read through that. There is not mention of the clutch disc driving spings i talk about. They go on the three pins on the inside or outside?

Thanks Merk. Exactly whats going on with my 126! I hate grinding gears. Maybe just one. Whats the purpose of these? Why did ih do this? Must be a reason? Do they go on the inside? Thats where i put mine, but maybe they go on outside?

If you want to use the springs I would put the springs between the 3 pin driver and clutch disc. The link posted in my post has an IH Cub Cadet 70 that was done without the springs It was done 10 years ago with no problems. This tractor gets used the most.

I used three and yes they hold the disc against the clutch plate. The shaft does not stop when clutching.

I took two off of there today, and it still grinds. Anyone with narrow frame manuals chime in on the number and orientation of springs? Are they even required!
