Wise to use Lead Gas Additive?
Don't know if discussed before as I couldn't find info.
With todays unleaded gasoline, would it be wise to start using a lead gas additive on old stock engines that haven't been rebuilt, to help protect valve seats?

It's been beat to death on here numerous times. NO. It is unnecessary.

We've got a bunch of older gasoline powered farm equipment. We never add any lead substitute and to date don't have any problems. Same goes for the Cadets we have.

Look on page 1.5 of a Kohler Service manual under Fuel type heading. Kohler says to use clean fresh unleaded gasoline.
I would not run any leaded additives unless the engine needs a leaded gas. The lead additive leaves more carbon deposits than not running a lead additive. Don't have a manual???? You can download a Kohler Service manual from OCC tech section.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
