Power House cub
Just thought I'd post a picture of my contraption I'm currently working on, I call it my Power House cub, because when the power goes out this is whats gonna power my house, Its got a quietline frame, 682 fenders, china 10hp diesel engine and a 10kw generator head.
basicly its just a drivable 10kw generator, I still have to fit the hood and then tear back down and paint. I'll post a few more pictures when its done.

yep I would like one of those too, but I'm a retired disabled vet, and being on a fixed budget, that setup just isn't in the cards for me.

well, the cub was a freebie, the generator head was damaged during shipping, so I got it for $250, got 2 of the china diesels for 600.00 awhile back (been sitting in the barn a year or so), most of the angle is scrap so no real investment there, guess what I'm out more than anything else is time. I figure 600/700 dollars tops, I'm thinking that's a pretty good price on a 10 kw unit, I imagine your setup was slightly more than that. I guess what I like about it most is I can move it anywhere I want to, electricity anywhere where on the property is a pretty cool idea to me.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
