2185 problem
When warmed up my 2185 pops and loses power (misfires) at full power setting. This happens when mowing or pulling a load. The carb has never been touched. It has the Magnum 18 Kohler twin.

Sounds like you have a dirty fuel system. Are you sure it is a mag? The 2185 had a Command from the factory, has yours been repowered?

I am having a similar engine condition in my 1864, Kohler Command 18 hp. Engine would run near governed RPM under light load. At higher load, high uncut grass requiring full engine power, the engine acted like running out of fuel. I pulled the fuel tank and cleaned. Did not have much solids. However, tank valves were packed with junk. I am guessing fuel pump could not supply required delivery to the engine. Currently replacing all fuel hoses, fuel filter, grommets and cleaned angle valves/tank. We'll assess when reassembled after parts arrive.
