Default Hydro to manual swap

I’m just getting into cub cadet tractors, I’m wondering if it is possible to install a manual 3 spd in place of the hydrostatic trans , like putting a 3 spd in a 1450 or something like that . I have a 3 spd with creeper box that I want to use , it doesn’t have a tag on it tho , not sure what year cub it’s from

First, welcome to OCC ......

YES, that swap can be done. It is Labor and Parts intensive.

As a suggestion, it you like Gear Drive tractors, why not simply look for a Gear Drive Cub Cadet...???

What would this swap gain you??
The beauty of a 1450 is the hydraulic system for operating attachments without working your a$$ off. To do what you are talking about would take a complete new driveline system with clutch linkage, plus a manual lift setup if you plan to attach anything. If you want a gear drive 14 hp Quietline go out and find yourself a 1200 and swap the engine. Much easier.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
