Single Digit Sighting?
My boss said he saw an old Cub this morning on the back of a truck with PA tags at a gas station in Evergreen, Va. He asked the guy about it and he said it was a 1960 with serial number 7 or 9 (he couldn't remember exactly) but said it was a single digit. Could be BS, but who knows. He said it was not restored but didn't look too bad either. Anyway just thought I would share.

Actually, the first "production" serial numbered Cub Cadet is 590.

Were the preproduction ones numbered? If so what number did they start at?

My boss said he was an old guy and kinda grumpy. He may have misinterpreted what he said or it was

IH ALWAYS started their serial numbers with 501. It is a IH thing.
