Default 100 Deck question

My 100 has the 3 spindle cast end deck. The Idler puller is just bolted down to a long slot. But when I look on part diagrams it shows a idler arm piece that mine does not have. How should the idler puller be attached to the deck. Thanks for any help

There are many different decks that can be swapped between narrow frame cubs.
Some are as yours is with the slot, others have the idler arm that is spring loaded.

From what I could see on parts tree, with the idler arm which has a spring also, but the arm is n/a. I've got an old deck out back, if no one answers you question by tomorrow I'll look and take a picture for you.

Mine has the long slot cut into the deck. But like previously mentioned on parts tree it shows that slot but also shows the arm. I am asking because there is a NF Cadet at a lawn mower junk yard and I need to know if I should get the idler arm off of it or just stick with the bolt through pulley method.

I know what the idler pulley arm looks like. But in some pics of the early 3 spindle decks it appears as if the pulley is just riding in the slot on the deck. But later ones had the arm. I was trying to find out what was the proper way it was supposed to be mounted.

On a cast-end deck, the idler pulley goes in the slot. I think they may have decided that wasn't the best idea later on and changed it to the spring-loaded type all of the later decks have.

Well the 129 Hydro I was going to pull the idler arm off of was picked cleaner then a turkey carcass on thanksgiving. It was a complete tractor just a week earlier. I did manage to get a rear hitch and light switch off of it. I will just use the slot.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
