Default Got me's an O

Hello all! New to the group. Got a '62 at a garage sale couple weeks ago. Has a mower deck and a garage sale restoration ( painted over all the grime, deck, belts, tires, stickers but stopped short of the hood logo, good from far, you know) but am happy as a clam with it. Bought with intention of cutting the grass, I wanted real steel and a strong following ( like a Willis jeep). Had it cutting already and it cuts great considering its age. Went and got a plow to rig on it for yard work (it's NOT a cub blade I know) but I'm thinking an o.e. unit might Be hard to find. Plus the one I got has the lift handle built in, so I won't have to use o.e. handle and mess it up working it. Now I'm on the hunt for the creeper set up, my frame has the shifter hole and it goes WAY too fast for me. So, hello everyone, thanks for having me.

you may be surprised to find...a creeper gear for that particular tractor will cost a ton of money unless you find a person who doesn't know what he/she has. you want the Danco UD-6 creeper gear. any other creeper gear will not work in your tractor. the Original cub cadets had their own set of attachments and options thats unique to just those. there is a Danco UD-6 creeper and clutch assembly on EBay right this moment for $450....about what your going to pay anywhere else. give or take. good luck with your O. they are pretty cool

That is funny, "garage sale paint job" ! Well, you found the right place for IH Cub Cadet information. With patience, some elbow grease, maybe a few tune up parts, and of course the folks here at Only Cub Cadets, the Original will greatly become a serious machine, cutting grass and lawns like a IH Cub Cadet!

Welcome!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
