Default honed and reringed k241 Running hot
Just got my tractor running again and it seems to be running extra hot. Is this normal or what should I check into?

did you readjust the carb after the rering? got your ign timing and governor set correctly? about the only other things that will cause it to run hot are plugged cooling fins or excessive friction. now that being said new rings are meant for a round bore. not an egg shaped bore. so until the rings wear into the egg shaped bore there's more concentrated pressure in small areas of the rings and bore

I've been trying to tweak the carb. Gotta grab t he timing light from my dad and check that out too.

you should be able to check it staticly with a test light or spark tester

Still seems to be hot. Or gets hot very quickly. I've got the carb tweaked and used it a total of about 3 hours so far. Anyone have a temp gun and could check their cyl head when there engine is hot.
