Default M20 intake gaskets replacement
Hi guys,
Working on my 2072, it was surging really hard and running rough so I pulled the carb to find it was clean, cleaned it anyway, and sprayed some wd40 on the base of the intake where it bolts to the engine and sure enough its leaking on the right side and was bubbling, I replaced these gaskets in the past and used silicone and now I am wondering why the one was leaking, should I not use silicone? Maybe I have to torque them and then retorque? Thanks

I don't use silicone where gas goes

All back together and it still surges and smoothens out with wd40 on it, I have no idea.

If you have an adjustable main jet, you might try to tweak it a 1/4-1/2 turn in either direction but preferably CCW as that is richer, and see how it reacts.

It has a walbro and isn't so adjustable, tightened up the bolts and seems better.
